Do you ever struggle in your MLM business?
Dear readers,
Do you ever struggle in your MLM business? Do you ever find yourself discouraged? Do you ever go through a long dry spell where no one joins?
I just received a message from one of my team on Facebook. She was a little bit down over her recent success in her business. This was my reply to her:
Don’t beat yourself up over it.
Just make sure you’re putting in consistent daily action. Make sure you’re doing your daily 8 and your GAWs.
The trap a lot of people run into (including myself) is they sponsor a few people and slow down. They start “managing” their business. They spend most of their time trying to work with the existing people and hoping their existing people will do something.
I’m not suggesting you ignore people just that you have to keep doing your daily 8. We always need to keep moving forward. If you can look at your daily actions and know you’re moving forward then you’ve got nothing to be down about.
Some of it is just timing. It is kinda weird how things come in bunches… Remember the analogy of flipping over cards looking for an ace. There are 4 aces out of 52 cards. Sometimes you might go through 15-20 cards to find one ace and then you might find several aces bunched up together. It is the same thing whether or not we’re talking about distributors/customers that join us or whether or not we’re talking about prospects. You might work with 40 prospects and get 4 to join (or
or whatever. Sometimes you might have go through a large number of “nos” or “maybes” to get to the yes’s.
We ALL face that sometimes. Diane and I included!
The analogy above is like this:
If you take a deck of playing cards and shuffle them. Play the game of flipping them over one at a time until you find an ace. That’s what we need to do in our MLM business. There are 4 aces in a deck of 52 playing cards but sometimes we might have to flip over a lot of cards to find those aces. Sometimes it’s the first card we flip over. Sometimes our first ace is deep in the deck.
In our MLM businesses we can use this analogy to share with our team and let them know that “dry spells” are ok. It is normal for everyone. We all go through periods where we aren’t sponsoring a lot of people.
The streaks go both ways though. We may have a month of sponsoring no one. Then one week where we sponsor 4 or 5 people.
We just have to keep focused on our daily actions. Consistent daily actions to grow our business. Stay focused on those actions and make sure your doing actions that “grow” your business and not simply “manage” your business.
What do you think? Do you ever have dry spells? Do you ever have a streak of success where everyone seems to say yes? Do you have analogies or stories you share with your team to keep their eyes on the prize? If so please share!
