How to Get Facebook Likes for Fan Pages
Having a Facebook fan page is step 1.
However, Your fan page isn’t much good without fans, right?
How do you get Facebook likes for your fan page?
If you have an existing web site there are some techniques you can use to get more likes.
One of the most important strategies to get more Facebook likes is to make your Facebook information public on all your sites. Make it obvious that you have a Facebook fan page so people can become your fan. Here are a few links to help you:
1. Facebook provides badges you can put on a blog to make it easy for your fans to find you. Facebook provides HTML code for adding a like button to Blogger, Typepad, etc. You can generate badges for your fan page, your personal profile, and groups.
2. Create a Facebook Like Box also known as a Facebook Widget for your web site (like the one on the right hand side.)
3. If you want to add fancy “floating” buttons for Facebook, Twitter, etc. here are some links for you:

How to Add Facebook Like Buttons in Blogger
If you make it obvious and make it easy for fans to like your fan page you will find it easier to get Facebook likes. If you make it hard and hide your fan page info you will have a lot harder time to get likes for your fan page.
These badges, widgets, and buttons can help you get more fans.
Speaking of which… are you a fan of mine yet?

I have been trying to get a fan page button on my blog for a couple of weeks now, I have been getting plenty of views but not many likes
Hey Bill,
I don’t get a lot of likes either.
What I hear is posting controversial stuff that people disagree with is going to get more comments. Posting “nice” stuff is going to get more likes.
I also think some of it is how many readers do you have? Does your blog have 10 readers? 100? 1000? 10,000? Obviously the more readers you have the more likes you get…
And don’t forget the longer you have it on your site.
BUT here’s another interesting thing… It is possible that having like buttons and stuff on your site can help you avoid duplicate content penalties. I heard a few people discussing this. The possibility that because you have different people liking different articles and things could have added benefits.
So don’t give up on the Facebook likes yet!

Thanks for the advice. I need to revamp my Facebook Fanpage. Don’t really like what I’m doing right now and I need to get a badge on my blog. Still working really hard to build traffic to my blog as well. I will like your facebook page right now and am excited to start getting updates!
