I got chewed out, and so I wrote the best advice I could possibly give
I just got chewed out by a guy who is on one of my mailing lists. He is on that mailing list because he subscribed to my Instant Buzz Mastery ebook. He is 100% justified to email me because he doesn’t feel like he has been getting enough good information. I’ve been fighting this battle the past week or so to get people to email me so I can build a better relationship with them and hopefully help them a bit in their business.
I thought it might make an interesting message to post to the blog because I think a lot of this applies to many of my readers. Many of you are probably advertising on traffic exchanges without luck and you want to know why. Here is my reply. Click the “read more” link to read the full reply.
Hey Mark,
Thanks for the email.
I’ll answer your questions below:

Yeah you are right. I’m working on that personal web site now. However you can always contact me using the support feature within the Instant Buzz Mastery member area.
You also must have missed the last series of emails at Instant Buzz Mastery. In those I gave a special email address people could email me directly for help with their business.

Sure, go on ahead and ask… and if you don’t think I’m helping you, please feel free to unsubscribe.

1. Instant Buzz is an advertising network.
2. In order to earn ads on the network you need to be willing to look at other people’s ads. If you aren’t willing to look at other people’s ads then you better break out the checkbook and buy some advertising.
3. You don’t want to hear about other people’s opportunities… I can understand that. I’m a lot like you. That is why when I join a traffic exchange I get a paid membership because they give me some advertising credits every month. I don’t have to surf or view other people’s opportunities. But again this costs money.
4. If you are looking for people who want to join an opportunity then you are looking in the wrong place. Do NOT advertise on traffic exchanges. You are right the people on the traffic exchange all have opportunities already. So you’re going to have the most success selling them tools to help build their existing business, or ebooks that show them how to do it, or some service that compliments their existing business. Most of them aren’t looking for opportunities, and if they are, it’s because they aren’t having any luck with their existing business. Most of these people are going to be quitters and opportunity seekers ready to jump ship to the next best opportunity. They’ve never made any real money, maybe a few hundred bucks.
That’s not the kind of person you want to reach. You’re better off advertising in other places where you can reach the right audience.

Well I don’t suggest Instant Buzz for reaching people. I’ll be glad to help you learn how to reach the right people.

Mark, you are right 110%.
If you’ve got more email than you can handle, you’ve got to cut back. A lot of us are on information overload because we’ve signed up for all these products from these different “experts”. If you aren’t getting any useful information from them, you should cancel them. And that means me too. If you aren’t getting useful information from me then you might want to unsubscribe. So my job is to help you get the right information and help you make some money.
Let’s start by taking a look at your opportunity and the web site you are promoting. Can you give me a URL?
Then, tell me how you are currently advertising this site to try and get leads.
Feel free to email me back or give me a call. My personal number is attached to this message.

Email Me Here

Hi, Jeff Davis here, and I sure think it is a shame that Mark doesn’t understand his email…”it’s just confusing…”, and I can sure identify.
Ben, you nailed it right on the head, IO, Information OverLoad, the bane and heartache of many an aspiring marketer.
My experience has been that I am a complete sucker for quality content, and I sign up for every
“free report” that interests me, and with
the “Christmas Giveaways” I’ve been like a kid in the candystore, grabbin all sorts of great goodies…but, I’ve learned a few tricks on the way.
I use the folder option in my Yahoo mail, and I have a folder called 2DU, and I shelve non-critical, but to do’s nonetheless, and I use NoteTabLite, with a folder I fondly call Info. NTL has a tabbed interface that allows me to have virtually any snippet of login, or affiliate info, at my fingertips.
This tactic saves me 2 hours a day, easy.
Another feature I use a lot is Search, I have so much stuff on my hard drive, it’s easier to let the computer locate something, while I do something else, just start the search and minimize it,
it normally is done within 5 minutes,
depending on the size of the HD, of course.
This tactic, saves me a lot of swearing.
My Secret Weapon, is my trusty Legal Pad.
I know, paper sounds arcane, but my mind
retains %50 more information when I write it longhand, probably a leftover habit from high school, low, those many moons ago, LOL>…
Another lesson that I have learned, is to monitor the autoresponders,
of my favorite people, people that I think are proven winners, bright, articulate, that are brutally honest,
“straight shooters”, if you will.
These few select people, such as Ben Fitts, always over-deliver, I have learned so much from IBM, I value the experience and time proven solutions, and tidbits of “insider” insights we ordinary aspiring marketers never think about, because we are distracted by the “noise”.
The beauty of an auto responder is, that if you don’t like the information that is delivered, the MAGIC UNSUB LINK is your saviour.
By all means click that bad boy, and continue your quest!!
I have been conciously trimming my e-mail, because I have been lucky enough
to find what I was looking for, and who I was looking for, and I have focused on my business in a far more efficient manner, since I have experienced the power of alignment.
I’ve cut my emails from 1,100 a day down to 40-50.
The wonder of the Internet is that there are plenty of Top Flite Marketers to choose from. Mark, get a second opinion, get a third opinion, till you find someone you “get” and “gets YOU”.
I’ve been “on the quest” since 1999, and trust me on this, I have not found a more honest and open person than Ben Fitts, the advice and help he has give me, has been priceless!
Marketing is about creating relationships, and that’s hard to do if your emails are harshly toned, most marketers are more than glad to answer your questions, it’s in the phrasing, trust me, I’ve been deleted a few times, before I gained this understanding8-)
So, Mark don’t give up, 2007 is your year! Good Luck!!
Hi, Just found your blog surfing on the internet! I am too much interested in the information like you are providing. Why you do not write a new ebook and publish it by collecting more information on this topic. NO! Do not take me wrong! I am not a publisher. Ha! Ha! Ha! You have written in a detailed manner that’s why I am asking you about the ebooks. Have you ever thought of any type of ebook and in its business. It is a really hardwork to create a blog like yours and to maintain it. But you have done really a great job. Congrates! I have few questions. Do you think that blogs are better than ebooks for providing information and making money. I Just take the ebooks as products. I have never tried to write any ebook and to do any sort of business. If I say something about my website here, then you will consider this comment as a spam and NO One like that. But would like to say, that while selling FREE EBOOKS I have made such a huge amount, just in few days, that you will be amazed! If you visit my website (by clicking on my name in this comment) then you are bound to be surprised. I am sure this is a new technique of selling, I have found over the net. But lets talk about writing ebooks and providing unique information to the internet community, have you ever tried writing anything and publishing it? Do you also sell ebooks? What is your experience? I am interested in knowing about it or your experiments? Waiting for reply – Thanks, Regards
