Advanced RSS feeds from Feedburner for your Blog

If you are a blogger…

Go to FeedBurner and signup for your enhanced RSS feeds and tracking tools. Right Now!

Feedburner will take your Blog’s RSS feed and convert it into new formats. It can make your RSS feed viewable by any news reader. It can convert amazon.com links in your feed to include your affiliate id. It can insert Google adsense ads into your feed so you can make a little extra money from people clicking on your ads. It can format your feed for podcasting.

Thats just PART of what feedburner does. They also add statistics tracking to help you track how popular your site is and how popular specific articles are.

This is a really cool service to enhance your blog. You don’t have to be an expert. Heck I barely even know what some of this stuff is. The cool thing is that I just have to point my rss links to feedburner instead of my plain old vanilla rss 2.0 feed. They’ll take care of formatting it in 1.0, 2.0, atom, podcast, whatever formats are neccessary. :)

They do offer paid versions as well. However even the basic paid version is less than $5 per month and supports 3 blog feeds. Heck with the google adsense ads and amazon links now included in my rss feed I expect to make back the $5 per month in the very first month.

Darn cool tool. I can’t believe I only just now found out about it!

Yes, and the nice thing about FeedBurner is that they provide a “landing” page for your RSS feed. Instead of blog readers clicking your RSS button and viewing a page of code, they view a nicely-formatted page that *is* your RSS feed — transformed using an XSL stylesheet (like CSS for HTML).
