2000 Bloggers Screwed me

I don’t understand what happened.

I guess Tino got tired of managing 2000 bloggers so he handed it off to someone else. These wankers decided to take out the original 300 people because “we didn’t request to join 2000 bloggers”.

(What am I talking about? Missed the original post on 2000 bloggers? Read it here.)

DUH. I doubt any of us wanted to be removed. We were all proud and happy to have been included in the first 300. Everyone that came after had to ask to be in. It was sort of a badge of honor.

However the new wankers running the show took us out of the headlines. I just found out and had to ask to be let back in. Now instead of being in the top row of bloggers on everyone’s site I’m down around 1700.

It’s pretty convenient that the person taking over can remove 300 people and change the list completely, because now they can seed it with their photos, their friends, etc.

I can’t imagine why anyone would have complained that they were one of the first 300 and why anyone would want to be excluded? Can you?

I’d love to hear your comments. Am I being crazy here?

Hi there!

I’m the person who decided to carry the torch for the 2000 Bloggers Project. I’d be happy to add you back in.

When I took over the 2000 Bloggers Project, I removed the first 300 people for a few reasons.

1. Some of them asked to be removed. They were writing posts about how they wanted to “opt out.” They were posting comments everywhere asking people to remove their photos.

2. I wanted to make sure anyone who participated actually wanted to participate.

So I posted a notice that I’d add back anyone who’d been removed back in. I kept that notice up for two weeks. I guess you didn’t see it.

It wasn’t any sort of scheme to exclude you. It was simply to be careful. I didn’t want to put up a photo montage of people who didn’t want their photos included. So I did my best to make sure everyone who’s face is in the montage wants to be there. Sorry you felt screwed.

Bullshit.

You had all of our web sites. WHY didn’t you notify us?

I didn’t even know the project was taken over from Tino in the first place. How did I know to check your lame ass new site?

NO one here has agreed with you. They agree with me that it is bogus that you took our position from us.

Not only should I be added back in but I should be first row just like I was originally.

Hey, great idea! Pot meet kettle.

You had my information, too. You could have emailed me or left a note on my blog instead of writing about it in your blog accusing me of deliberately trying to screw you over.

The original project is gone. Tino abandoned it.

I resurrected what I could and I’m doing the best I can to actually create a community.

You never asked to be part of the project.
It’s that simple.

This is not a personal issue, this is a BLOGGER issue and should be posted about openly on a BLOG. It is live for the public to see. Perhaps you don’t want the public to see if because they agree with me.

It was a huge benefit and a great honor to be included in the first group of bloggers WITHOUT being asked.

Having to ask to have yourself included when you were HONORED to be included without asking in the first place is my point.

It’s like the stars on the Hollywood walk of fame. You have to BUY the star, therefore the star is pointless.

To some people that don’t know any better the star is meaningful, yet no one gets jobs in Hollywood

However the Oscars are impartial. Yes companies can campaign to try and get their actor nominated or their movie, but it is up to the voters to decide who wins and who looses. That’s why someone who wins an Oscar is honored and why their careers are boosted by winning an Oscar.

Being one of the original 2000 bloggers is sort of the same thing. Because we were included in the original automatically without having to ask we received lots of links to our sites, some trackbacks, additional ranking in Technorati etc.

Were you one of the original 300?

elainevigneault Says:

I’m sorry you are so offended.

If you’re really, truly bothered by it, why don’t you start a 300 Bloggers page and post the 300 “honored” bloggers? You can spend your time and money “honoring” people by stealing photos from their blogs.
