Why do Christian’s feel that business is evil?
I heard something pretty interesting in an interview the other day. This genteleman was a minister and also a very successful network marketer.
He pointed out that in the bible everyone had a business. No one had “jobs”. Everyone was self employed. The only people who had jobs were: slaves and soldiers!
Why is it that in modern times many Christian’s have come to feel a stigma towards being a business owner? Why do Christian’s especially feel so negative towards money?

I’ve never noticed a bias against money or being in business in the Christian communities of which I’ve been a part. Now if you want to talk about a desire to become wealthy, then yes, there has certainly been a certain discomfort, perhaps even a fear of going down that road, or a guiding against that type of love for the world. I imagine that it has a lot to do with Jesus’ overt distain for and many, many warnings about developing or allowing in our character a love or dependence upon money. It is do easy to believe the lie that money or things than bring to us worth and value and security and belonging. We really can’t serve both God and money.
The educational systems are very “deceitful systems” because they are set up to steer the majority of the masses to work for someone else, so even though you may not be called a slave today, you are still a “slave” in many ways because of the huge manufacturing factories set up to manufacture goods. This is why the governments can now tax each person/slave for goods and services. Most governments are pimps for big merchants/aka corporations.
When people go to war today it’s not really for the security of their country but mostly for economic reasons; to invade and plunder another country for it’s resources in the name of the big corporations.
The secret of their success is instilling fear and doubt in the minds of the masses and raising the price education so that less people are able to accomplish even that.
Solomon was one of the richest men in his time, so was Job and Abraham. The trouble with great wealth is that it can lead you to depend on someone other than the God who gave you the talents to make it. maybe the reason Christians are uncomfortable about business ownership is that it is not easy to run an honest business when you consider some of the advertising methods in use.
I have never felt that “creating Wealth” and being successful offered any Conflict with Chritianity.
I was taught early I was born in the Image and Likeness of the Creator and we know He is all Powerful, so as I grew my Business life 55 years ago I was just following in my Father’s Footsteps.
Those who fail to see this have fallen under the Chains of Bondage provided by Society, a euphemism for the DEVIL.

If someone who operates their own business with integrity, then that is the Christian way. People shouldn’t be scared to make money as long as it isn’t deceitful. Who is more malicious here? The Christian business owner or the bejeweled preacher on TV?
Hi
I have got to agree with J Berg as long as you run your business with integrity you have nothing to worry about.
I think many Christians feel that a prosperous business and subsequently, a prosperous business owner might be evil if the business doesn’t have the words “Christian owned” or any other Christian references made to it.
This is a very sad reality especially when as a Christian my Father said that Jesus is the King of Kings. All Kings will prosper abundantly when they follow and adhere to God’s Kingdom and His words.

Hi, I found your article very interesting as a Christian and someone starting out in internet marketing. I have noticed there has seemed to be at times the idea that poverty is holiness. I found it very insightful when the article mentions how people in the bible had their own businesses except slaves and soldiers. wow. Thank you for the insight.
