Network Marketing & MLM Training by Home Business Blogs

Invest in yourself FIRST

I’ve always believed that if you’re on a limited budget in your MLM business you should begin by investing in yourself.  Invest in training yourself.  Invest in learning new skills whether or not they are sales skills, marketing skills,  or personal development.

Benjamin Franklin said ‘If you empty your purse into your mind your mind will fill your purse full of gold.’

That’s a pretty darn powerful statement and pretty much is in line with what I’ve alwas said.

I was listening to an audio the other day from a powerful network marketer and he was discussing how much time he spends learning and studying and going to seminars and things.  Even though he is a millionaire he still invests in training and personal development.

Hey Ben,

I wanted to comment on your “Invest in Yourself” article. As a person who has been a full-time Networker for the last 6 years, this is probably made the biggest difference in achieving success for me personally.

One of the philosophies that I was taught by my mentor was “your income growth will never exceed your personal growth.” I’m sure you’ve heard this before. You can’t come from making $40k per year and expect to make $400k per year in NWM.

The key is to surround yourself with positive like-minded people as well as books, CDs, and functions. After 3 years in NWM my income was 300% larger than I ever had coming out of Corporate America with an MBA. If you stay in NWM long enough, you will experience many ups and downs on your journey to success. By investing in yourself and putting positive in, you will enable yourself to stay in long enough to give yourself a chance to win.

You show me a home business owner or Networker who is not on a personal development path of some kind and I’ll show you a person who will likely fail and become one of those statistics we hear about.

Don’t let that happen. Find someone who’s going where you want to go and hitch your wagon to them. Ask them what they’ve read that’s really impacted them and start reading. Remember, readers are leaders!!

Thanks for allowing me to share with your readers!

I agree, I was a real estate investor before I join my current Direct Sale company, and all the guys that I leared from were seminar junkies. They were I guess you could say multi-milliares and deca-millioairs. If someone wants to be successful they need to go to at least 3-4 seminars a year, there not only great to learn your craft, but it also allows you to network with other like minded people. I appreciate the articles.

I agree with this as well! I felt bombarded by information on setting up an internet business, trying this and that and finally feel on the right track as I have begun to pour myself into doing research first, studying it first. Thank you for your insight.
