Are you a Bulldog at Follow Up?

Are you a bulldog with your followup?

Ever heard the phrase, the fortune is in the follow up?

How about these statistics:

  • 2% of sales are made on the first contact
  • 3% of sales are made on the second contact
  • 5% of sales are made on the third contact
  • 10% of sales are made on the fourth contact
  • 80% of sales are made on the 5th-12th contacts

These statistics show that the longer you follow up the better your chances are.  For each contact your chances of signing them up increase.

Are you a follow up pit bull?  You should be!

PS. I’ve got three upcoming webinars this week on customer follow up systems.  If you don’t have a follow up system in place check them out.

What do you think about using a auto responder on a weekly basis for those contacts already made and still sitting on the fence? Do you use one or is that just not worth the time. I am new to MLM and some of the programs I have studied refer to them as a necessity?

Hi Julie Ann,

I think anything you can do to follow up with prospects is good. Some people react differently. Some people will never call you back. Those people will react favorably to emails.

So I think mixing up your follow up is a good thing.

I use emails, greeting cards, and phone calls to follow up with my prospects.

The only downside of email especially autoresponders is that with so much email spam these days it’s very easy for your email to get lost in the shuffle or accidentally flagged as spam. So you can’t rely on email. You’ve got to do multiple forms of follow up.
