Setup Automatic Replies to Twitter Followers
Hi everyone,
My friend Dvorah from Electronic Marketing Magic shared this link with me. She found this site called Tweet Later.
Tweet Later is cool because it allows you to send a private message back to anyone who follows you on twitter. This is one way you can add in a little self promotion and advertising. I reply back with a link for people to check out my web site. It also allows you to send out a public reply welcoming your new followers once per day. This helps them get a little exposure too. Finally it allows you to auto-follow your new twitter followers.
It looks like the service is free, so that’s pretty awesome.

I recently did a poll on twitter and the VAST majority of those that responded (around 25 responded and only one disagreed) feel posting links in DM’s after follow is inappropriate. Your link is usually on your page already and people can find you when they want to. Many even stated this may be enough reason for them to unfollow you.
You can use services like Tweetlater but use them to say hi and you look forward to getting to know them, not to “spam” them because they were nice enough to follow you.

That’s a great point. I had read something similar recently. Was it shoemoney? Anyway I decided to take out my blatant self promotion and just link it to my personal site. That way people can find out more about me if they want, but it’s not so spammy.

BTW You can use a site like Qwitter which will tell you if people unfollow you.
