Tell Adsense to emphasize specific sections of your web page
Did you know that when the Google Adsense crawler visits your web site to index your content and determine which ads to display… You could tell it that certain parts of your web page are higher priority?
Holy Smokes!
So lets say you wanted to emphasive an article on your page, and make sure all the navigation and other junk isn’t really used when determining which adsense ads to show.
Guess what? You can do that!
I found this out reading the forums over at Webmaster World.
Here is the code to tell Google to start emphasizing the content on your page:
Then after your article put the following code:
So if you write a blog like this one, maybe at the top of your
you’d put in the ad_section_start. At the bottom of the div you’d put in the ad_section_end.
Obviously if you know what you are doing you can even make sure only the content of your article is emphasized, not the comments, not the header, not the links, etc.
Pretty cool trick right?
