How to find niche categories for PPC, Adwords, and Adsense

I’ve been studying Perry Marshall’s material.

Perry is one of the best known Google Adwords experts. He wrote the Definitive Guide to Google Adwords. He has some great tips on finding niche categories to build new web sites or information products (ebooks) around.

One of the things he suggests to finding a new niche is to use a survey. He sets up a site on a niche topic. He then puts up a survey that goes something like this:

“We’re developing a new product on niche topic and we want your feedback. Whats your biggest question/ need / gripe / itch you want to scratch? Fill in the form and we’ll do you a favor to thank you for your cooperation.”

So the do you a favor might be, we’ll send you a free whitepaper on topic or a free special report on topic.

So lets say we chose a niche of red paint and we’re going to launch a special report on red paint.

“We’re developing a new product on red paint and we want your feedback. Whats your biggest question/ need / gripe / itch you want to scratch? Fill in the form and we’ll send you a free special report on the best brands of red paint to thank you for your cooperation.”

He then uses a service called the Ask Database. The Ask Database helps you run your survey and compile all the results.

Then he runs an Adwords campaign on his topic and routes them to his survey.

This gets a flood of visitors to your new site that are interested in your topic and who will give you feedback. That way you know exactly what to focus your white paper or special report on. The Ask Database even helps you compile a list of the keywords the people used when submitting your survey. Of course your white paper/special report uses the exact phrases and stuff that people used in your survey and it convinces them to buy your product, ebook, buy from your affiliate, etc.

I’m now using this service and wrote about the Ask Database on my blog a few days ago.

And one more thing I want to point out. You don’t even have to be an expert on the particular topic. Once you know what people want to learn more about and what their problems are you can hire a writer to write your special report, your ebook, etc. for you!

Or maybe you subscribe to one of the article services out there, and after you gather the data from the web site visitors you simply rewrite the articles using the data you received from your survey. That way it will be full of answers to their questions and exact keywords they used.

Cool right?

Check out the Ask Database and start a 21 day trial for only $1.
