How do I get started with Google AdWords?

How do I get started with Google AdWords?
Pick the category that you want to start with.
Develop a list of keywords. Google has a keyword suggestion tool you can use. I also like some of these keyword suggestion tools.
Single keywords don’t work as well. They are vague. You want more specific keywords. Lets say you are a Cognigen rep and you want to start selling cell phones with AdWords:
So: cellular
Isn’t as good as: cellular phones
Which isn’t as good as: cellular phone deals
Which isn’t as good as: tmobile cellular phone deals
Sure not many people will type in the phrase tmobile cellular phone deals, however those that do will be very interested in finding out more about buying a tmobile phone right now.
When you use broad keywords you’ll get a bunch of people who aren’t actually interested in your product/service and you’ll be wasting a lot of money.
So thats the basics
Start small, pick 5 or 10 keywords and put in just a few dollars. Try it out. Test it. Track your results. And build from there. (more on this later)
