Yes professional business cards help but all too often I’ve seen people using their company business cards.

What does your company logo have to do with anything?!?

Most don’t say anything about what you do, what product you sell, etc.

You want a business card that describes what you do.

Mine for example doesn’t read “send out cards” because even though I am a distributor for that company that name doesn’t explain what I do very well. Mine says “custom greeting card guy” because that explains what I do much better.

It’s all about marketing and most of the generic marketing materials most companies provide are CRAP

Excellent advice Ben. You need to brand yourself before anything else. Being unique plays such a pivotal part in building your business. If everybody else is doing it, think twice before you do it too.

Using a good signature at the end of all your email follow ups is very effective at getting people to call you. So you can be the hunted and not the hunter!
