MLM Marketing Systems
Hi everyone,
Do you use a MLM Marketing System?
It’s something talked about a lot. A lot of people are looking for a system to help them build their business faster. There are a lot of high profile systems out there. There’s a lot of publicity and it is hard to tell which system is best. You might have heard of Mike Dillard’s Magnetic Sponsoring, Ann Seig’s Renegade Networker, or many many many others. Too many to name.
The concepts these systems teach are great. For example Magnetic Sponsoring teaches you to use funded proposals where you sell a low end product to qualify prospects for your MLM. You sell an ebook (Magnetic Sponsoring) and since you’re promoting a network marketing training all your prospects should be people who are already interested in MLM/Network Marketing. The idea is they’ve already proven a willingness to buy and an interest in MLM so they should be good prospects. Meanwhile since you’re selling an ebook you are bringing in some quick cash which you can use to promote the ebook and get more prospects into your system faster. Even if you just break even on the expenses of marketing the ebook you’re generating quality leads, right?
Here is the problem with mose of these MLM marketing systems. They don’t build you up. They build up the expert.
Lets use a different example. Are you familiar with 3 way calling? You have a hot prospect and you do a 3 way call with your upline. Your upline should tell your prospect about how awesome you are, how you are an up and coming leader on their team, and how they would be privileged to work with them. Your upline shouldn’t talk about themselves too much. They should talk about you and how build you up in the eyes of your prospect.
Now let’s look at these marketing systems. MOST of them build up the expert. They don’t build YOU up. They aren’t designed to make you look like an up and coming leader. They might have your name on them, but that’s about it. Most of the promotion is about the expert not about you.
Imagine if on that 3 way call your upline was talking about how great they are. Imagine if your upline was talking about themselves and not building you up in the eyes of your prospect. What would your prospect do? I would be willing to bet that a majority of the time the prospect would become less interested in you and more interested in your upline. The prospect might even try and join the upline directly.
Imagine if you’re using this MLM marketing system and your prospect starts hearing about these “experts”. They want to go right to the source. They seek out the expert to find out what they’re doing and join them instead of you.
So how do we avoid this?
I’ll talk more about how to avoid this fatal mistake next week
