When was the last time you sponsored someone into your business?
Dear readers,
I have a really simple question for you.
When was the last time you sponsored someone into your business?
Was it a week ago? A month ago? Several months ago?
Sometimes we wonder why our team members aren’t doing more in their business. We wonder why they are all going so slow. We are wondering when we’re going to find that next leader. We’re wondering why we’re not duplicating more…
I find that often when I have thoughts like this I take a look at my own business. I find that often times I’ve been spending time doing activities that aren’t necessarily business building activities. They are “managing” my business activities. Even experts like me get into this trap sometimes.
It is even easier when you’re a new person. You watched a video that said you only had to sponsor 3 people. So you go out and sponsor one or two or even three. You’re expecting some miracle to happen. You’re expecting these people to go out and light the world on fire, but the reality is it usually takes more than a few people. It takes 10 or 20 or even 30 on average to find a leader.
I was looking at my business recently wondering why it wasn’t growing faster. Volume was up but total number of distributors was sort of stagnant. I was looking at the people in the legs that could help me promote. These are people who were working their business a few months ago. Then I realized they’re just doing what I’m doing. It was easy for me to sit back and relax and collect paychecks. It was easy for me to get distracted in “managing” my business, especially since I already had built a big business. I made excuses about my divorce, my move, etc.
You can make excuses or you can make money but you can’t make both.
So I went out and got to work. Sponsored a couple new distributors already, and several more customers.
Guess what? It is like metaphysics or something… those distributors who had been working their business a few months back? Suddenly they call me out of the blue. They’re working their business again too.
Weird!
If you look at your business and your growth is slowing down, go out and work hard again. Market your business heavily again. Sponsor some new distributors again. You will be pleasantly surprised to find the effect that has on your existing organization!

I’m sure that’s VERY true, but my problem is getting a team to begin with!
Hi Raina,
What do you feel is your biggest problem in building your team?
