How to get more traffic to your web site from Stumble Upon
Dear readers,
A few months ago I noticed some people on Twitter were using a different link service. They were using links that looked like: http://su.pr/2PeC0q
There are a lot of redirect services and services to generate short links for your links. This one is special!
Why is it special? SU.PR is the short link service for Stumble Upon.
Stumble Upon helps you discover and share great web sites. You can share your favorite sites with them and you can use the service to find other web sites on similar topics. If you share your favorites with them they can help you get more traffic for your web sites.
Why would you use SU.PR for a shortlink instead of bit.ly?
Stumble Upon can help you get more traffic to your web site. When people click on your Stumble Upon link it generates additional views. The more people that view your “stumbled” web sites the more popular your site will be. Stumble Upon will then show your web site to more stumble upon visitiors.
It is random but if I submit a link and no one else clicks on it, I usually don’t get any more traffic back. If however I can get a few clicks on the link, my “views” grow exponentially.
Let’s say for example I submit the link on Twitter and Facebook. I might get 15-20 clicks on my link. But by using a Stumble Upon link, my link will now show up to other Stumble Upon users as well. That 15 clicks may become 60. I’ve increased the web traffic on that link by 400% simply by using SU.PR instead of Bit.ly.
So how do you generate links with Stumble Upon?
Step one, login to your account.
Step two, add your web site.

Step three, click the link to “share” your web site.

Step four, Share your Link!
when the share box opens, pick how you want to share it, on Facebook or Twitter or email. Stumble Upon will automatically generate a link for you and some sample text you can use.
It’s that simple to get more traffic to your web site using Stumble Upon to generate short links instead of bit.ly!
As you get more clicks on your link, Stumble Upon will reward you by giving you more random views from other Stumble Upon members. The more popular your link is the more views you’ll get back. It’s a compound effect!
Try it out and let me know what you think!
