I use mispellings to generate a huge profit!

An associate in one of my businesses, Jordan, was just talking about how he accidentally put the word “demon” in his signature file. He meant to put “demo” but accidentally typo’d an N on it.

He was a bit embrassed and corrected it.

However you can turn this around.

Many users make typos all the time. I have heard stories of people who buy and re-sell items from ebay all the time by looking for typos. People who mispell the word “daimond” for example might not get as many bids on that diamond ring and might end up selling it too cheaply.

This is a HUGE business tip that Jack Spirko and I use to make us a lot of money.

Mispellings are worth GOLD.

You can purposefully target people who mispell common phrases. I do this in PPC (Pay Per Click) ads, In SEO (search engine optimization). I purposefully target commonly mispelled words, people who mistype a brand name, people who put extra spaces in between words, people who don’t use the right tense of a word, etc.

There isn’t as much traffic for mispelled words, however if you pick the right words you can still get pretty decent traffic from it… and because there is a lack of competition you have a better chance of making the sale, and can usually pay less for the traffic you do get!

And because I’m in a good mood. Here is a top secret url for you to lookup popular mispellings:
http://www.searchspell.com/typo/

Now go make some money!

HOT tip - Feedburner signatures

I told you about feedburner a couple of weeks ago in my blog entry:

Advanced RSS feeds from feedburner for your blog.

I didn’t even understand just how powerful it was at the time of my original blog posting!

Feedburner offers tools to enhance your Blog’s RSS feeds. One of the neatest tools is this little gif image you can use in signatures, you can use on forums, in emails, etc. The tool rotates your latest headlines from your blog. This is a great way to draw attention to your headlines in a socially acceptable manner! Many forums allow you to use avatars or images in your signature. Most people do things like put a banner ad or maybe their face or a picture of their product. Instead you can put your feedburner feed right there. It will cycle between your headlines and if you do a good job of writing headlines it will generate A LOT of attention for your blog. Check it out! This is the signature I now use in my emails:

See how dramatic that is?

Why aren’t you using Feedburner yet? :-)

Blogging for profit

I guess you guys have noticed I haven’t been writing to this blog much lately. The reason is I have been TOO busy updating all my other blogs.

I’ve been reading and learning from other “professional” bloggers. People who make a nice living by blogging.

There are a few lessons to learn from these guys. First of all they update their blogs on a daily basis. Very rarely do they ever miss a day of blogging and sometimes they post multiple entries per day. If you are serious about this you can even schedule your blog entries to automatically post, even if you know you’re going to be away on vacation or whatever. That way your blog never goes “dormant”. This is something I’ve been especially bad at. Sometimes I’m in a writing mood and I’d write several entries over a period of two days. What I’m trying to do now is to spread those entries out. Once I’ve reached one entry per day I’ll try to spread out my entries. I’ll write them up today, but I’ll save them as “drafts” in Wordpress then publish them tomorrow by simply logging in and clicking on the publish button. I wish Wordpress had the ability to schedule it to be posted tomorrow, but so far I haven’t found that feature/plugin? Have any of you guys seen it?

The second thing the bloggers for profit are doing is using Google’s adsense ads on their pages to monetize their pages. They put them into different locations on the page and test their effectiveness. For more information on how they do this see our previous articles on adsense:

Adsense tips from a million dollar a year earner
Google Adsense Tips

So that is what I’ve been doing lately. I’ve got some blogs I’m doing on some other topics. I’m updating them every day. I’ve even setup some smaller blogs that contain a subset of that content and link back to the main blog for more articles. This way the blogs are each unique and really do contain unique content… kind of like a “preview” or “summary” which points over to my main blog. We’ll see how that works. Who knows, maybe the search engines will hate it?

Search Engine Marketing tips SEO

Hi guys,

I haven’t been writing much lately because I’ve been working on some top secret internet marketing stuff. If it works I might share some of these tips with you.

What I can share with you is a couple of resources I’ve been using to enhance my search engine optimization work (seo). This is something that I was pretty good at a few years ago but in recent years I haven’t done as well. I want to get better at this!

So I’m now studying Search Engine Optimization.

Two sites I’ve been using regularly are: SEO Chat and SEO Radio.

Seo chat is more of your traditional resource for Search engine optimization. They have columnists that write articles about search engine optimization and they have some popular forums where people hang out and trade tips. They also provides lists of tools and resources. Generally speaking this is the first place I go to when looking for a tool on a particular topic.

Seo radio is a different idea altogether. They host a weekly radio program where they interview search engine optimization experts. It is a pretty cool idea. You can listen to their past broadcasts right through your computer. Even if you work a job perhaps you can use headphones and listen to the past broadcasts while you are at work?

Finally here is a site I use that has free SEO tools. I use this site to generate keywords, look at backlinks, check link popularity, etc.

Hope these tools help you out! If you have some tools you’d like to share please feel free to leave me a comment and let my readers know!

Did you know Google has a good writing filter?

Did you know Google has a good writing filter?

According to the Search Engine Journal.

His research shows some interesting revelations. For one thing he says that web sites that are written badly with mispelled words and made up words, don’t do as well as professionally written web sites?

Crazy right?

Who knows if he is crazy or not. The important thing if you are a SEO or want to be an SEO then you should read this article. He suggests you get your pages professionally written or at the very least if you write your pages you have them proofread by a copyeditor. He also has some opinions on the structure, the length of paragraphs, and several more details you can use to optimize your pages for Google.

I just read about Jason Calcanis from Weblogs, Inc. who blogs for profit.

They article falsely talks about making $1 million a year in Adsense revenue, but this is PROJECTED revenue based on current income.

However they ARE making $2000+ per day in revenue.

Here is a series of articles you might want to check out:

Traffic Generators for your business

I don’t know if you guys know this, but I used to be friends with some people who made a living dealing in the online adult business. I know it isn’t the kind of thing you’d expect me to do, but I’ve never been one to judge people. These guys are actually on the cutting edge of internet marketing and usually develop new technologies before the mainstream world. For example they pioneered much of the credit card processing, fraud prevention, and subscription based sites technoligies we take for granted.

One of the things I learned from my friends was that they would create some sites which were considered to be traffic generators. Then when they launch any new web site they would be able to take some of this traffic from their “traffic generators” and feed it into a new web site. This allows them to launch a new web site and instantly get a significant amount of traffic to it.

They would have different types of traffic generators. Some would be open to the public, others might be closed to only their friends and partners. Others might be for only their personal use. So a gallery site might only list their galleries and might be a way to filter traffic into their galleries. Search engines started to catch on to this though, and they’d rank people down for only linking to their own pages. So then they’d allow a small network of friends and partners to share links. They’d all route traffic to this one “directory” or “gallery post” and they’d fill these listings with all of their own sites.

Another idea that worked really well was to have gallery sites but open it to the public. This gets you a ton of traffic and allows you to create some advertising revenue. Meanwhile you promote your own sites and links in prominent locations on the site. You’re helping the general public getting them traffic to their sites. Meanwhile you’ve been building a new advertising revenue stream while continuing to promote your own sites. By opening up your gallery listings to everyone you’d be able to generate more traffic, get better page ranking, better SEO listings, and everyone would benefit. Then when you want to launch a new web site you simply replace some of your normal ads with ads for your new site. Or you’d change your popup window to popup your new site. Wha-la instant traffic.

Keeping this in mind, I’ve been working on generating my own traffic for my affiliate projects, network marketing, and affiliate programs.

I’d pay $24.95 to Link Market to get listed. $1.99 at Blog Universe. $19.95 a month at Links Manager. It quickly adds up. For some of my big sites that regularly generate several sales a month it is no big deal. However some of my new ideas may take awhile before they start to generate sales, maybe they never work!

So one of the things I’m doing is building some of my own traffic generators. I’m going to use LinksManager.com to setup my own link exchange directory. If I can build my directories PR up to 6 or 7 (see yesterday’s article) I can get any new web site I want listed on Google in a few days with a PR of at least 3.

I’ve got some other ideas along these lines too. I’ll keep you guys posted.

The heart of my new online marketing strategy

I have a two phased approach to my online marketing these days. The first is to develop as much content as I can. With my blogs I’m trying to write an article a day even if it is only a couple of paragraphs long. I want to keep creating as much original content as I can. My second approach is to get as many links to my site as possible.

This all serves one purpose. This gets more traffic to my web site and helps build up my search engine rankings and helps me get even more traffic. It should become a “spiral” where I get more and more traffic and it literally becomes impossible to stop.

I have to get my site links up, because search engines like Google use this in their page rank formulas. So they give one site a higher ranking because of the quality of it’s link partners. This benefits me because getting more links out there is going to help me get more traffic from people clicking on those links. It is also going to benefit me because it will help my Google ranking and therefore help me get more hits from Google searches.

Actually I’ve got a third approach to marketing but it really comes back to number 2… getting me more traffic and more links. I’ll cover that in another posting soon.

Getting a new web site listed in Google in less than a week

I’ve been spending some time over at SEO Chat doing some research on search engine optimization. The articles have been really interesting. A couple of things that stand out in my mind is that they do NOT suggest going to a search engine and using the “Submit web site” button. Instead they suggest getting links to your web site on other prominent sites of a similar topic.

They suggested getting links from other sites using link exchanges like Link Market which I already covered in a previous post. These are two way links though. You have to link to them and in return they link back to you. While this is good it isn’t as good as getting a one way link. A one way link is where someone links to your web site and you are not required to link back to them. One way links are considered more important by some search engines.

With this in mind, the guys at SEO Chat had a great idea. They suggested getting some sites with a high Google Page Rank to link to you with a one way link. One of the ideas they had was to do a search on google for some of the keywords you want your site to be known for. Find some sites with a Page Rank (PR) of 6 or better and asking them to link to you. Some of these sites may have guest books, link exchanges, etc. This makes it pretty easy to get a link back.

Another idea they had was to actually BUY a text link ad from one of these sites. Their theory was that you only need to be listed on a PR 6+ web site for a week or so. You wouldn’t have to spend a ton of money to get a link for one week. However during that week Google WILL spider their site. Google spiders high page rank sites on at least a weekly basis and the big sites with 7+ it usually spiders daily. (Don’t quote me on this, I’m not an expert I’m just paraphrasing what I read.) They said if you can get at least one link from a PR 7 site then you’d probably be able to get you site listed in Google in less than 24 hours AND that you’d start off with a PR of 3 or 4!

This is a pretty cool way to get your site listed in Google quickly and to get started off with a decent PR. I’m going to try this out and I’ll let you know my results.

Manage your reciprocal links & link partners with this tool

If you’ve followed this blog recently you’d know I’ve been working to build traffic to some new web sites using link partners and reciprocal linking. One of the things I’m already beginning to encounter is that as I build a large list of link partners it gets harder and harder to manage.

I am building traffic to my blogs, and Wordpress includes some tools for managing links. However as some of my sites are getting up to 30-40 links I’m realizing how hard it is to keep up with them all. In fact I’ve even encountered problems where some of the software user by my link partners is having a hard time finding their reciprocal link on my site.

So I’ve decided to look into link manager software. One of that is really popular is simply called Links Manager. Their software looks great and it offers a free 30 day trial, but it has a monthly fee. I don’t like paying monthly fees. So I kept looking. I found another package that looks pretty cool called Info Wizards. I looked at their demo and their software is pretty cool. It can even show alexa rank and google page rank of your links. You can actually use it to setup your own link partner site or link exchange site. The software has a one time fee instead of a monthly fee and it can be used on two seperate domains. Plus they have a 2 level affiliate program. Thats the kind of software I can support, and in looking at their own link exchange site the software looks really sweet.

So today I’m buying Info Wizards and am going to set it up. I’ll write again in a couple of days to let you know how the installation and configuration is, and I’ll show you a link where you can see it in action on my sites.

Update: Not real happy with InfoWizards support and service so far. I’m going to have to look into LinksManager.com.
