Network Marketing & MLM Training by Home Business Blogs

The Internet Marketing Main Event

Last weekend was the Internet Marketing Main Event 2 in Baltimore.

WOW! What a weekend. Awesome speakers, good food, made lots of good friends, and networked with a bunch of people.

I want to write about it and share my experience but at the same time I’m busy trying to take ACTION and launch my new product! That launch is scheduled for Thursday September 28th. Hopefully after that I can take a few minutes out to share with you my experience from the seminar.

Let me say this. No matter how much experience you have in internet marketing you NEED to get to one of these events! You can be a novice and learn a lot or you can be a pro and just network and make connections with future business partners. Either way it is well worth it!

Is Second Life a hoax or a fascade?

I’ve been writing about Second Life recently. A virtual enviornment where new media marketers have begun advertising and promoting their products, brands, and businesses.

Some people just don’t understand Second Life and understand the appeal. The “Branded Newb” wrote in his blog that Second Life is a fascade. He considers it just a game and a temporary fade in marketing. He does not feel it is the wave of the future. Apparently he feels games like World of Warcraft have more appeal. What he doesn’t realize is that he invalidates his own argument!

You see games like World of Warcraft are virtual yes, but they generate significant incomes both for the game manufacturer and the economies that support those games. (I should know I have an ebook “

What is Second Life?

Second Life is a virtual world. Some people consider it a game but games have goals and objectives. The goal in Second Life is strictly to have fun and enjoy yourself. You are represented by an avatar and can walk around and interact with the world around you.

Second Life (SL) allows you to own land, own office space, dress your avatar in the clothes you want, decorate your space, etc. Marketers have already caught on and are advertising in this medium. Successful retail operations are setting up retail operations in the game where they can sell clothing within SL.

Other people are using SL as a way to communicate. My friend CC has setup virtual meetings using SL. He even has an office he has purchased and built within the game. He uses that office space to host his meetings.

So how does that help you market your business or your product? Well this is a virtual world after all. It is much like our world. You can sponsor events. You can sponsor buildings. You can purchase advertising. You can make clothes and things that have your logo on them. You can even link to web sites out in the world wide web and direct people from SL to your business or web site.

Business Schools are getting in on the action. Harvard Business School recently cohosted a conference on marketing your business in Second Life. Babson College bought an island within SL. Lego and American Apparel have both setup presences within SL.

I’m just learning about Second Life myself, but check out CC’s podcast Managing the Gray for more ideas on how to use Second Life.

Cognigen Autoresponder Trainings Are Available

Are you a Cognigen agent?

Are you looking for an autoresponder to help you promote your Cognigen business? Kevin Anderson recently released a new Cognigen Autoresponder as part of the Ultimate Rep downline club.

This particular autoresponder is a series of emails which tell your new distributor about Cognigen and help them get started quickly. These emails are pre-written for you. All you have to do is copy them and paste them into an autoresponder. The person only needs to signup and confirm their email and over a period of several days or several weeks they will get a series of emails which promote the Cognigen Business Opportunity. Now one word of warning. The Ultimate Rep downline club is free, but some of the opportunities in it are not free.

However you’ll get access to some great tools like this cognigen lead generation page for USA customers, and this lead generation page for international customers.

I know the pages aren’t pretty, but they are damned effective. You can even use them on the free traffic exchanges.

I’m still using my Ultimate Rep tools. Actually they have been on autopilot generating me new leads, new sales, and new distributors. It is a pretty cool system and I recommend Ultimate Rep to all Cognigen agents.

New Media Marketing

I recently got turned on to a cool new medium for marketing.

My friend CC Chapman is new media specialist. He is known mostly for his podcasts but he’s a pretty smart marketing guy and calling him a podcaster wouldn’t be doing him enough justice. He has a great new media marketing podcast which talks about all kinds of new media marketing not just blogs and podcasts. His podcast is called Managing the Gray.

What do I mean by New Media? I mean what some people might consider underground marketing on the internet. People who use innovative new techniques to market their product, their business, and their brand. The most well known are probably blogs and second would be MySpace. Yes you can market your product on MySpace if you know what you are doing and if you have a product that suits the younger technology market. I don’t think you can market very effectively on MySpace if you are marketing to retirees but if you are marketing to teens, twenty somethings, and technology savy 30 somethings then you can definitely market there.

There are lots of other new media ways to market. Like blogs podcasts are a new media marketing tool. Web sites like Friendster might not be popular anymore but Facebook, LinkedIn and others are replacing them. More recently there are virtual enviornments like Second Life. Look, right now you might not understand what Second Life is… but what if I told you several years ago how popular blogs or myspace would be? What if I told you in 2000 to setup your site and the rewards will come. That is what Second Life is now. It is a brand new place for you to market yourself or your business. And Second Life is fun too!

I’ll get more into what Second Life is soon. For now make sure you go check out CC’s Managing the Gray podcasts. Quite a few have covered topics like Second Life and you’ll learn a heck of a lot about marketing in a new media enviorment.

Cognigen Leaders Group Update

Hi my name is Benjamin Fitts,

Some of you are members of my Cognigen downline. Others of you
joined this mailing list through my Ultimate Rep or Cognigen
Leaders Group web sites.

Today I’m writing you to tell you why I haven’t been as active in
Cognigen lately. A few months ago I got an idea to create a web
site called Cognigen Leaders Group where I was going to record
training videos and make them available to my Cognigen team.

You probably are wondering… “Ben, where are those videos?”

I recorded several videos in Camtasia but they haven’t been put on
the web? Why? Because I’ve been busy with another company.

You see about two years ago I joined this other network marketing
company. I just joined it to compliment my Cognigen business and
to better communicate with my 200+ Cognigen customers. I never
intended it to replace Cognigen.

Within just 6 months I was making more money in this company than I
was in Cognigen.

This is one of the reasons I stepped down from my position as a
National Trainer in Cognigen.

I didn’t want to tell you guys about the new company because that
could be considered a conflict of interest and might effect my
Cognigen checks. I also didn’t think it would be respectful to you
to try and cross recruit you.

I apologize to you for not giving you as much help as you deserve.
I’m not normally like that. That is why I haven’t written you
recently. That is why I haven’t released any video trainings. I
honestly don’t think I will ever release the video trainings
because I can’t take the time away from my main business.

I’m still active in Cognigen. I still have a bunch of customers and
still use the product. I’ll still offer what advice I can, but
I’ve got to focus on my main business. I don’t think I’ll ever
quit this company. Cognigen is a great company with lots of awesome
products and I’ll continue to refer people to buy Cognigen
products. I just won’t be recruiting and team building like I used
to.

PS. What happened to the stuff I was working on with Kevin Anderson
- founder of Cognigen? I’m still involved in some of those
projects, mostly for developing leads for my business. However
Kevin is working A LOT of companies and projects at once. I’m
focusing more on just my main business and the opportunities that
compliment my main business.
