Have you ever heard the phrase, “The Money is in the list”?

Well this is true. Once you have a mailing list you have the power. If you are launching a new web site you have a built in audience. Send them a few emails to warm them up before the launch, then launch the site. You’ll get some (or a lot) of immediate signups from your mailing list. Right now I can send 100-200 referrals just by sending an email out to one of my mailing lists from my subscription sites.

Even if you don’t have your own products or web site you can make a lot of money simply by referring them to other people’s products.

So how do YOU build a mailing list?

There are tools out there to help you.

You join their web site, by doing so you agree that you are willing to be emailed.

You also get access to send emails to their mailing list.

For each person you refer you get more bonus emails. By referring 10 people you may get access to 100. It depends on the site.

You can also buy a premium membership that allows you to email 1500 to 5000 weekly. Depending on the site you may get to email 1500 or as many as 5000 members. This isn’t quite as good as if you have your own mailing list, but it does work. Every time you send an email you get a few clicks. In my own tests I’ve gotten between 6 and 24 clicks per mailing.

If you only got 10 clicks per mailing, x 52 weeks a year, that’s 520 more visitors to your web site. That’s probably 5-10 more sales of your product, more people joining your downline, etc.

If you did 24 clicks per mailing x 52 weeks a year, that’s 1,248 more visitors to your web site!

Do that on all 4 of these services and we’re talking thousands and thousands of additional visitors, buyers, and business partners.

The newest and coolest one of these services is List Lotto. Every week you get to email people, AND you get a chance to email the entire list! Right now I think that would be emailing about 30-40,000 people. Not bad right?

Another good Cognigen question from CJ. Is there a place to track our web site hits.

IS there a place on the webpage or in the tools to see how many people visit your site like a counter

The regular Cognigen web sites do not have a counter.

The shoptfort1 sites show you statistics about the number of visitors that come to your web site. (That’s the “dedicated t1″ link at the top of the page).

Also Cognigen offers premium web sites. These web sites do allow you additional customizations and an administration page that allows you to see how much traffic you’ve gotten to your site. They are a $99.95 setup fee, but only cost $9.95 after the initial setup. You can see more information on this at:

I got an idea for a great new series of articles on the Blog. I sometimes get emails from my downline and thought, it would be great to answer them so that anyone can learn from the answer. I’m sure a lot of you have these questions!

Our first question comes from C.J. Walton

Good afternoon Ben. I have been looking into the long distance for businesses and Pioneer telephone seems to come up the cheapest all the time. What I would like to know is is there a phone number for that company or is the whole set up done online? Is there a number the customer can call after I set up their phone long-distance package. Is there more training to sell this product to the business sector? Again thank you for your time.

Thank you for the email.

Yes there is a toll free number to call for support but not neccessarily for orders. I don’t know if they take installations over the phone though, because they might not be used to working in an affiliate marketing way where they need to ensure that your agentid is credited. In some cases they have to credit two agent ids. Cognigen’s and your own. The best thing is usually for you take the order by phone, but login to your web site and place the order through your web site. That way you make sure you get credit for it.(Some vendors like Talk America and VMC Satellite do have order numbers where you can call in and order and they ask for your affiliate id.)

Now… How do you find the numbers for each vendor?

Go to your back office at:

http://www.ld.net/admin

Login, then click on the “support” link. Then click on the “vendor contact list”. You’ll see a listing of each vendor there, and you can click on them to get information about each vendor. Each vendor has vendor specific notes under them.

In the case of Pioneer the notes say specifically that the vendor does not have a Cognigen specific order number at this time. So I would not call that number to place orders as you probably won’t be given proper credit for it.

One more important thing… from your main admin page… if you click on library you can download LOA order forms. These are the forms you need if you want to manually take orders.
