Network Marketing Secrets - Getting your BLOG indexed in the search engines

In my series of articles on the secret of network marketing and what it takes to set yourself up as an expert so people seek you out to join you…. I’ve been showing my new web site Book MLM. One of the things you’ll notice is that I have setup a blog that I call the Bookwise Blog.

Some of you might wonder why having a blog is such a big deal. Well, here is a great reason.

First My Blog is already ranked #2 on Google for the word “Bookwise blog”.
Second My blog is already ranked #26 for the term Bookwise.

Now these are both simple keywords to target but you get the point. This web site is only a couple of weeks old but it is already beginning to rank for some competitive keywords.

My main web site isn’t showing up in the search engines yet! It’s stuck in the sandbox and I need to get a bunch more links to it to get it to show up. However the blog is showing up. In fact it was showing up as #2 for the keyword “Bookwise Blog” within a few days of creating the site.

Not bad right?

Well how do I get my blog to show up so quickly in the search engines?

One of the advantages I talk about in my video on why blogs are sometimes better than web sites, or why blog, is that blogs have rss feeds. The advantage of an rss feed is it allows people to subscribe to your blog so they can be notified when you have a new blog posting.

This is important because lots of sites have sprung up to allow you to find blogs. Some of them even promise to help you compile your own “news” based on all the blogs you frequent. They show a page with headlines or snippets of articles from your favorite blogs. They show all this in one place so you don’t have to go and search dozens of blogs.

Why is this important to you as a network marketer? Because it is a great way for you to get free publicity and free links to your blog! That’s how you become known as an expert. That’s how you get your blog ranking for top keywords in the search engines.

So how do you do it? Well I’ve compiled a list of places where you can submit your rss feeds. Right now I’ve put 74 sites on this list where you can submit your blog rss feed or your blog main page and get free traffic.

Pretty cool right?

My Secret to Network Marketing Success - Part 2

Yesterday I wrote about how you can get people to seek you out to join you in your network marketing business.

Today I will continue this series. I’ll call this one My Secret to Network Marketing Success - Part 2.

One of the keys is to set yourself up so people perceive you as an expert. Remember that most people aren’t going to know as much as you do. Also remember that if you focus on anything for just a few months you quickly will become an expert that knows more than 95% of the people on that subject. So don’t be afraid to be an expert!

The way I go about setting myself up to be an expert is to build a web site. I just started with Bookwise a Book MLM and the first thing I did was go out and find a domain name and start building a web site.

The domain I purchased is: BookMLM.com

It had some keywords I liked like “book mlm” and I thought it was kind of a cool way to market it as “Finally, Books have gone MLM!” or something like that.

I just started building the site about a week ago. As you can see I don’t have a lot of content there yet. Mostly just some basic things.

One thing I did want to point out however was the blog. I call it the bookwise blog. If you go to Google and search for Bookwise Blog you’ll already see I’m in the third position and am the second site listed. I haven’t even put a lot of information up yet! BUT Blogs are powerful and Google loves them. I only have 5 posts on my blog and yet people who search for Bookwise will already find me in Google! How awesome is that?

So the first thing you want to do is find a good domain name. You can use the free Google keyword tool to lookup keywords.

Second you want to buy web hosting and begin to setup a basic web site.

Third you want to setup a blog.

BUT let’s say you are a novice and don’t know how to do that stuff, that is ok! What you do is you start with a BLOG. You can even setup a free blog at Google’s Blogger. For some free videos on how to setup a blogger blog check out my other site, Marketing ICE where we teach you how to do this stuff.

You don’t have to be a big time writer. Write about things you know. If you were in Bookwise for example you might write about the books you’ve read. If you are in a health company maybe just write about the different vitamins and such that you have tried. Maybe write about how your health has gotten better. If you are in a travel company write about the places you have traveled to and show photos from your trips.

Pretty soon you’ll be considered an expert too.

I’m going to write more about this topic tomorrow. In the meantime check out the Bookwise Blog and also my new web site dedicated to all things Bookwise.

How to do network marketing - You can get people seek you out to join YOU.

How to do network marketing - You can get people seek you out to join YOU.

I’m a successful network marketer. I’ve built downlines ranging from several hundred to several thousand people. Not just in “free” opportunities but also in companies that cost $400 to $600 to join.

A lot of people ask me how. They want to know if I call leads, where I buy leads, where I advertise, what ads I run, etc.

You know what?

I hate that stuff.

You might call me lazy, but I call it smart.

I’d prefer to work with people that seek me out to join me personally, rather than call people all day long and get a bunch of rejection. Wouldn’t you rather work with people that want to work with you? Wouldn’t you rather only call people that have already expressed interest in joining you?

Here is one of the tricks…

Set yourself up as an expert so that people seek you out to join you.

I JUST joined a new book MLM and setup this web site to help build up my expertise.

Here is the web site: http://www.bookmlm.com

In the next few weeks I’ll be going through the step by step details of how I set myself up as an expert. Please don’t be too critical of this web site as I’ve only put about 2-3 days of part-time effort into this so far! (For some of you, you may be saying, that’s amazing. If you think that’s amazing I can’t wait to show you what I have in store!)

It is Monday, Do you have your goals for the week yet?

It’s a great day outside. It rained all weekend but the weather outside looks beautiful. I can’t wait to go outside.

What is your plan for today? What is your plan for the week?

What are your goals for today? What are your goals for the week?

The first thing to do is to take a few minutes and think. Think about your goals. I like to write them down while I think. I don’t write them in any particular order I just want to capture my thoughts. After doing that for a bit, I like to stop and think on them some more. Which one of these activities is the most important? Is there anything from preventing me from making that goal my target for the week? Are there other goals I need to accomplish first to get that task?

I like to break goals down by small chunks like daily goals, and also weekly, monthly, and quarterly goals. You’ve got to have a lot of different goals. Why?

If you are working on a long term goal, you might want to break it down and give yourself some smaller goals to accomplish this week so you can feel some success. That’s why it is important to have some stuff you can make off your list while you work on those long term goals.

Try to keep on track. Try not to allow yourself to get sidetracked too much by other activities or goals that might seem more fun to work on. Maybe they are fun because they are easier to accomplish, however if they aren’t important activities then they are only serving to distract you from your bigger goals.

Today is the beginning of a new week.

What will you accomplish this week?

PRELAUNCH Opportunity - Get In On the Ground Floor

Ever see ads like this?

Everyone wants to be in a ground floor opportunity, right? Everyone wants to be at the top of the pyramid, right?

WRONG.

Are you prepared to not have any mature tools to market your business?
Are you prepared to have the compensation plan change SEVERAL times and perhaps to loose money or qualifications in the process?
Are you prepared to make tools and resources for your downline from scratch?
Are you prepared to have problems with your product?
Are you prepared to have problems with customer service?
How about problems with your checks?
Like direct deposit? What if that wasn’t an option yet?
Like recruiting Internationally? What if that wasn’t an option yet?

You see everyone thinks they want to be in during prelaunch but the reality is that prelaunch is not a very fun place to be.

During prelaunch or even the first few years there are a lot of problems with the business. Maybe the business model wasn’t quite right so changes have to take place to the compensation plan. Maybe the product becomes so popular they have a hard time making enough of it.

At the very least their probably aren’t going to be a lot of support tools, premade ads, websites, conference calls, or trainings.

The 99% of the people who want to join prelaunch are clueless. All they know is that they want to be at the top of the “pyramid” but they don’t realize the real people at the top put in a ton of hardwork and it isn’t always fun.

This is why the people who do get in early and stick with it make so much money. Because it takes a lot of effort to help develop the systems. MANY times the systems a company ends up offering to all agents for marketing and training are actually developed by the first “distributors” who are leaders.

Anyway I just wanted to share this with you guys today…

I’m in a brand new company and people like to complain about the order forms or whatever and it cracks me up. They have no idea how lucky they are to be here, they just like to complain…

Amazon.com Context Link Ads - Worth using?

So after a couple of months of using Amazon.com’s contextual links (see previous post on amazon.com context links).

I have decided to remove them from my blog. Maybe for a different type of blog it might work ok, but for home business blogs more often than not I found the contextual links were just plain crap. Usually they linked to weird items or topics that really had nothing to do with the content of my blog.

Maybe if this was an HDTV blog and we were writing about lots of HDTV equipment, remote controls, home theater, etc. However I am not even sure that would work well. My guess is that half the time the contextual links would be linking to all the wrong topics.

Maybe if they can find a way to keep the contextual links on topic it might be worth it… but when people start buying “financial accounting” books from my blog instead of adsense, blogging, podcasting, home business, network marketing, etc. I can tell that the links aren’t working right.

I also got several comments from readers who had problems with the contextual links as well, because they expected it to take them to a site on the topic, and instead they were taken to some off topic items at Amazon.com

Have you tried them? Let me know if you found them to be useful or not by leaving a comment…

Setting Up Google Analytics

I frequently get lots of questions from people who want to know the best tools to track their web site visitors.

By far the best free tool available is Google Analytics. If you have never seen Google Analytics or if you are interested in “how to” set it up and “how to” use Analytics then check out this free video on Google Analytics.

This is one of the videos from our new site Marketing ICE. You can watch the video for free. All you need to do is enter your name and a real email address and we’ll email you a password that’s good for 12 videos like this one for free.

If you aren’t using a web site tracking tool yet you really need to be. Little tools like this can take your business to the next level. The kind of thing that you might discover from these tools are keywords people use to find your site, web sites that refer a lot of visitors to you, errors people encounter when accessing your site, like maybe you have the wrong name of one of your links, or even wholes in your sales process where visitors are leaking out of your site before getting to your sales page!

Powerful Powerful stuff!

Check out Google Analytics to see just how easy it is to get started tracking your web site.

Crazy Egg, Heat Maps to see where people are clicking…

A few months ago I mentioned a great new tool called Crazy Egg which allows you to track visitors to your web site. (see previous Crazy Egg post here) The most interesting thing they do is they allow you to track which parts of your web site someone clicks on. This is done in a heat map so you can see where people click, and which parts of your site are clicked on the most.

This means you can see specific words or links on your site that are working well, and also links that aren’t working well. It’s amazing that ANYONE can do this. This used to be expensive but now ANYONE can do it with Crazy Egg.

We just released a new video on Crazy Egg and their web site heat maps.

Marketing ICE Relaunch!

Hey everyone.

I haven’t written a whole lot for the past few days because… We’ve been working on a new and improved version of Marketing ICE!

We took the feedback we got from our beta members and fixed up the site. I think it is a TON better now. Plus you can see several of our videos for free. You don’t even have to register. If you do register we’ll make you a special discount offer and give you 6 more free videos to watch :) AND paying for a membership is now dirt cheap, only $19.99 a month instead of our original $99.

We discovered that the people who tried the site loved it. But a lot of people didn’t want to pay $99 to try the site out. So we decided to lower the price. The technology allows us to as long as we can get a good number of members, we can offer the site and still break even at this low price point.

What do you think of our new SEO Tutorials and Internet Marketing Training site?
