Using WordPress Websites for Business (Example Inside)

wordpress logo 150x150 Using Wordpress Websites for Business (Example Inside)Dear readers,

In my book Nichework Marketing I recommend having a blog.

There are many advantages to blogs that traditional web sites don’t have.

BUT sometimes we don’t want a blog…

Or at least we don’t want our web site to LOOK like a blog.

Take a look at this new site of mine:

The Custom Greeting Card Guy

This site is a traditional web site, right?  It has content about my business and a call to action to get people to opt in and request a trial of my service.

This web site is actually powered by WordPress, the popular blogging software!

BTW this site ranks well in Google for several key word phrases.

In my Nichework Marketing webinars I’ll be revealing more about how you can do the same… and why this is so powerful to your online marketing…

I am hosting a free Nichework Marketing webinar tomorrow Wednesday August 10th. To register for the webinar visit:

I hope you can join me!

The Fortune Really is in the Follow Up

Fortune Cookies 150x150 The Fortune Really is in the Follow UpFriends,

The fortune really is in  the follow up.

Yesterday I generated 13 leads for my business.

12 of the 13 were internet leads.  6 of the 13 have gone to phase 2 and watched a video/done a demo on my web site.

But here is the thing… I haven’t spoke to them.  If I simply let the system do the work, maybe I’ll get lucky and sign up one or two of those (1 signed up as a customer already on their own.)

If I call them, and follow up with them I’m going to increase my sign up ratio.

This is the problem with internet leads. Most people just sit back and want the internet to do the work for them. They don’t want to talk to people.  While that may work sometimes it won’t work very often.

Here is an example of the importance of calling to follow up.

I called all of those leads yesterday to follow up with them. I left voicemails if I wasn’t able to reach them. (I will try them again today.)

One ladycalled me back. She was having problems doing the free demo on my web site. She was on an iPad and Apple doesn’t allow you to use Adobe Flash on an iPad.

The good news is that we have an app for that. We have an app for people on iPads and iPhones to be able to use our service. I was able to talk to the prospect, setup a trial account for her, and tell her how to download the iPad app.

The fortune really is in the follow up.

If I had tried to let the internet system do all the work I never would have spoken to this prospect and I never would have been able to tell her about our iPad app. I definitely would have lost a prospect. She probably would have been frustrated that she wasn’t able to use our web site.

Don’t be afraid to follow up with people.

That is what separates the average distributor from the great distributors.

Business Plan 2009 – Send Thank You Cards (without expecting anything in return!)

great to meet you 215x300 Business Plan 2009 Send Thank You Cards (without expecting anything in return!)

Sample thank you card I use

I’ve been writing a series of articles on my business plan for 2009.

One of the things I believe in and I’ve read a lot about is sending thank you cards.  One mistake many people make with their thank you cards is they write their thank you card expecting to get something in return.

MOST business people will send a thank you card with their full business card information inside. Or they’ll send a thank you card that will say something like “the best compliment I can receive is you trusting me with a referral.”

The problem is that is an expectation of getting something in return.  You’re giving to get not giving to give. When you give to give you win trust and favor with the person much more than giving to get.  Sometimes people give expecting to get something in return.  If you give just to give to the person, then they have a deeper appreciation for you.

I send thank you cards for lots of occasions.  I have a card (pictured here) that I send to say “it was great to meet you”.  I have thank you cards I send to every new client or customer.  I even send thank you cards when I get good customer service.

Just the other day my wife and I went to the AT&T store to get new cellular phones.  We received really excellent customer service from a fellow named Matt. We took up an hour or more of his time and it even went past closing.  He went the extra mile to make sure our phones got setup properly.  So I sent Matt a little thank you card along with some brownies.

I just returned to the AT&T store to switch phones.  Matt came over to me immediately.  He wanted to thank me for the brownies.  Even though another associate was already helping me Matt was more than happy to give me some extra help in picking out my new phone and accessories.  He was so thankful that I thought of him and even sent him some tasty brownies as a treat.  I guarantee you every time I go in to that AT&T store I’m going to get GREAT customer service. icon smile Business Plan 2009 Send Thank You Cards (without expecting anything in return!) Have you sent your holiday cards yet?

Hi readers,

Today is December 12th and that means the holidays are right around the corner. Have you sent your Holiday cards yet?

As you may or may not be aware my business is greeting cards.

If you have a last minute need to send out holiday cards (including cards customized with your photos) I can help.  Since we print cards on demand you can pretty much make up your card at the last minute and we can still help you out.

If you need any help getting your cards out just give me a call at: 877-236-3488 in the USA or 860-896-5837.

Or if you want to try it yourself you can go to my web site.  Then click the banner that says “click here to send a free card”.

I don’t normally write about  my business but thought this would be appropriate since some of you may be trying to get your cards done last minute and might need some assistance.

Have a great weekend!

Ben
