Outsourcing Article Writing for Your Blogs

outsourcing1 150x150 Outsourcing Article Writing for Your BlogsDear readers,

Are you interested in outsourcing article writing for your blogs?

In my book Nichework Marketing I talk a lot about finding your niche and building niche content web sites.

I specifically talk about setting up niche blogs.

But the main question is… How do you get the content?

I used to try to do everything myself but I’ve learned that sometimes you need to leverage your time. Sometimes you need to source tasks like article writing to someone else.

I know you may be afraid of outsourcing article writing… You may be afraid that the content will be a duplicate of what exists elsewhere on the internet.  Or maybe you are afraid that the article won’t be very good.

So what?

It’s better to get it done, than to wait for it to be perfect.

  • If the content is a duplicate that could be bad and could cause Google penalties.
  • Likewise if the content isn’t well written it could cause issues as well.  Many of us don’t want poorly written content on our web sites as it reflects badly upon us.

But guess what?  I don’t put the outsourced content on my main web site.  I put this content on a niche web site.

Let me repeat that.

I don’t put this outsourced content on my primary web site.

I put the outsourced articles on a separate niche web site.

That way if my niche web site gets penalized it doesn’t hurt my primary web site.  If the content isn’t 100% up to my usual standards it also doesn’t reflect badly on my main web site.  They are two different web sites.

The niche web site only links back to my main web site. The niche site only generates leads or optins to an email list for my main web site.

So don’t be afraid of outsourcing article writing for your blogs.  Just make sure to keep the outsourced content on a secondary web site like a niche web site.

I try to avoid duplicate content and copywriting infringements by utilizing outsourcing services like TextBroker.

TextBroker allows you to post job requests for outsourced articles.  You would say you want to an article on a specific topic, give them a title, and some keywords… and then you pick a price. The price you pay is also what guarantees you a certain skill level of author.  You can pay 1.2 cents per word or up to 6.7 cents per word depending on the quality of the author. An article written for 1.2 cents per word may be written by someone who isn’t a native english speaker. An article written by an author for 6.7 cents per word may be written by someone who is an advanced writer with degrees in English/Literature/Writing.

For my last project I picked authors of 3 star rating at 1.6 cents per word.  I had 9 articles written for less than $70 including fees.  Many of the articles were well written.  A couple weren’t my usual standard but I’m not complaining.  Imagine how many hours I’d have spent writing those 9 articles?

TextBroker also checks your articles for copyright infringement and plagiarism. I had one issue with one of the articles and sent it back to him for revisions. It took a couple of tries but I got the issues corrected.

All in all I’m happy with the work I got for the price.  The prices are similar to ebay prices. If I was on an outsourcing site like eLance I’d expect to pay a lot more for outsourcing article writing.

Make Your Websites Search Engine Friendly

seo friendly Make Your Websites Search Engine FriendlyDear readers,

Would you like to make your websites search engine friendly?

Have you heard about the Google “Panda” update?

In case you aren’t a search engine nut like me let me give you a quick explanation.

Every so often Google updates their algorithm that evaluates your web site and chooses what keywords your web sites rank for.

The last major update was called “Panda” and it caused a lot of stir.  Many web sites lost their rankings including some from major brands like Overstock.com, JCPenney, and even Forbes.  A lot of smaller companies lost their rankings as well.

One of the major changes Google made in Panda was to place a greater emphasis on quality.

I’m not going to go into details on Panda.  Instead let’s talk about things you can do to make your websites search engine friendly and hopefully improve that “quality” score so you don’t end up getting penalized by Google. (This especially applies if you’re doing niche marketing with me over at Nichework Marketing.)

Today there was a great article from Wordtracker.  The article discussed 3 smart ways to make your content more valuable and sharable.

One of the things discussed was to add multimedia to your content.  If you saw my new Custom Greeting Card Guy web site I announced earlier this week… You saw that I added both Animoto video and YouTube video as well as static images to “spice” up the content.  This was a simple way to add value and quality to my web site.

Little things you do like adding multimedia can make your content stand out.  Instead of making your web site look like an article farm or content farm multimedia shows you put in some extra effort.  A little multimedia can instantly make your websites search engine friendly.

For more tips on how to improve the quality of your content (in the eyes of Google) make sure to read the excellent wordtracker article.
