Could you use an extra tax deduction?

tax reduction ahead Could you use an extra tax deduction?New Year’s tax savings TIP

We’re at the end of the year and that means this is a business owner’s last chance for tax deductions!

You can use this tip to go back to your own prospects and get them to take action today!

I’m going back to my prospects today to let them know that if they purchase a Send Out Cards account their purchase may be tax deductible for this year. If they wait until January the deduction won’t count until next tax year.  This may be the incentive/reminder some of your prospects need to take action today.

My business is Send Out Cards. We’re a greeting cards and gift company.    They may want to simply become a user of the product. They may want to automate their birthday cards or send more follow up cards to their clients.  That could be a tax deduction for them.

Other people may be contacting me about the business opportunity. Starting their business this year would probably count as a tax deduction for 2011. If they waited until January they wouldn’t be able to count it as a tax deduction until the end of 2012!

You don’t have to be involved in the same business I am.  This “tax savings tip” should be good for any business.

Contact your prospects now.  Remind them of this tax reduction tip and you might be able to get a few prospects who have been on the fence to finally take action.

6 Tips for effective business cards design

top 25 biz card 300x207 6 Tips for effective business cards designDear readers,

I wanted to share these tips I saw in Tom “Big Al” Schreiter’s Fortune Now newsletter. With a few extra additions on effective business cards from me.

6 Tips for effective business cards design

1. Put your picture on your business card. People will remember you more easily. And you appear more approachable. (People also connect to faces and photos and have a harder time throwing those business cards away.)

2. Use big print. As people get older (and have more money), their eyes get weaker. You want them to be able to read your phone number and email address.

3. Use both sides of your business card. Don’t let that extra advertising space go to waste. Maybe you can make the back of your card into a coupon or introductory special.

4. VistaPrint.com always has introductory specials. Great place for business cards in small quantities. (SendOutCards now offers business cards too and you can make 5% back on your own purchase and money on your referrals as well!)

5. Put your best foot forward. Prospects don’t care about your company name, they care about the benefit to them. Put your benefit in big type, and your company name in little type.

6. Do you use two card prospecting? If so use a card with a blank back side or have some blank cards handy.  When you do two card prospecting your prospect may not have a business card. Hand them an extra card of yours and a pen so they can jot down their information on the back of your card.

Have you ever been burglarized?

burglar bill small 91dn Have you ever been burglarized?Dear readers,

Have you ever been burglarized?

I was listening to a motivational author the other day and he brought up a great point.  Burglars steal temporary things.  They steal TVs, Electronics, Computers, and Jewelry.  They can sell them quickly and make a little money.

They won’t ever become truly wealthy this way.

What if instead a burglar stole your personal development library?  What if they read those books on personal development and motivation?  What if they improved their skillset so they could perform better in a job or start a business or invest wisely?

The poor will always remain poor, UNLESS they work to improve themselves.

Successful entrepreneurs know that constant self improvement is the key to success. They hire coaches. They have accountability partners. They set goals. They review their performance and constantly work to improve them.

Burglars are like the people in our business who are always looking for a shortcut. They’re always looking for a way to make a quick buck and are only focused on the now. They aren’t  building for the future.

If you’re looking to develop yourself books like the Slight Edge, Think and Grow Rich, and Rich Dad Poor Dad are great starting points.

(BTW I was burglarized once. It is not a good feeling. However it is temporary and you learn you can replace all those “things”.)
